Broncos’ high-flying defense in for a stiff primetime test against balanced, explosive Lions: “We can kind of prove the type of team we are”

Published Mon, 24 Feb 2025 04:38:57 GMT

As the Broncos defense over the past eight games has transformed into one of the NFL’s best, its faced all types of offenses. The rugged, run-heavy Cleveland Browns. The magic of Patrick Mahomes, even this frustrated-by-poor-receivers version. The barely-bother-to-run Los Angeles Chargers.Next up is perhaps the most difficult challenge since Denver gave up 70 points at Miami,  a performance so terrible and so different from this group’s recent run that it feels more like three years ago rather than just less than three months ago. At the least, it’s a task on par with playing at Buffalo a month ago.The Lions, powered by quarterback Jared Goff, a fleet of young, talented skill players and a big, physical offensive line and orchestrated by coordinator Ben Johnson, has a calling card: Balance.“These guys obviously run the ball well, and have the ability to then go off play action or drop back,” Denver coach Sean Payton said Thursday. “It’s not just one thing.”No indeed. This legendary artist has a bone to pick with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. While on "The Kelly Clarkson Show," Cher slammed the museum after she had been snubbed multiple times. As the crowd cheered in support, the "Turn Back Time" singer then quipped "And I'm not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!"Cher's appearance on the daytime talk show came weeks after her holiday song "DJ Play a Christmas Song" earned her a new No. 1 song on the Billboard song chart. She's had a No. 1 hit on the song chart for every decade since the 1960s. The song is the lead single off her very first holiday album. When Clarkson was taken aback, Cher said she "wouldn't be in it now" even if they paid her "a million dollars.""I'm not kidding you," she said. “I was about to say sh---ing you! After years of wondering when they will have to pack up and take their business elsewhere, vendors at San Jose’s Berryessa Flea Market now have at least until Jan. 1, 2026 to sell their goods on a site planned for future residential development, the Mercury News has learned.First opened in 1960 by George Bumb Sr., the flea market features hundreds of stalls selling a variety of products and is a staple of the East San Jose neighborhood.Redevelopment of the 61.5-acre site has been in the works since 2007 because of San Jose’s BART extension project, putting into limbo the future of thousands of flea market sellers.
