ST. LOUIS - Emergency crews are responding to a house fire in south St. Louis on Wednesday morning. Our Nissan Rogue Runner reporter, Nic Lopez, captured footage of the scene on the 6400 block of Idaho Avenue, where the two-story home saw the heavy fire begin on the first floor, eventually spreading to the second floor, causing the roof to collapse. Surveillance cameras capture dramatic images of Central West End attack The single occupant of the home escaped from the building safely. The cause of the fire is still unknown. FERGUSON, Mo. - Furnaces are fired up Wednesday morning, and the group 'Journey Against Domestic and Sexual Abuse' wants to help some folks pay heating bills.This help is available Wednesday for low-income families to pay their spire gas bills. It's happening from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the St. Peter's Resource Center on Stein Road.The resource center in north St. Louis County provides crisis intervention, crisis case management, support groups, and helps create escape plans. ST. LOUIS - The next round of funding for the Illinois electric car rebate program opens on Wednesday.Illinois started the program last year to encourage people to buy electric vehicles and to reduce vehicle emissions and greenhouse gases. People who buy a new or used all-electric car from an Illinois-licensed dealer and apply within 90 days will be eligible for a $4,000 rebate. She's touring the Belleville Shoe Manufacturing Company to learn more about their operation.The Rentchler and Weidmann families founded the business in 1904 to produce shoes; it is now the oldest and largest private manufacturer of military boots. Paonia State Park is closed for the season now, but when it reopens on May 1, 2024, kayakers, paddleboarders and canoers may have more reason to show up, at least on Tuesdays.Colorado Parks and Wildlife is considering closing the boat ramp in the park once a week to motorized vessels in future summers, something it has also done at Highline State Park. The European Commission has approved a €66 million Finnish scheme to support the production of renewable methane and methanol to foster the transition towards a net-zero economy. The scheme was approved under the state aid Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework, adopted by the Commission on 9 March 2023 to support measures in sectors which are key to accelerate the green transition and reduce fuel dependencies. The new Framework amends and prolongs in part the Temporary Crisis Framework, adopted on 23 March 2022 to enable member states to support the economy in the context of the current geopolitical crisis, already amended on 20 July 2022 and on 28 October 2022.Under the scheme, which will be fully financed under the Recovery and Resilience Facility, the aid will take form of direct grants covering investment costs. A man was arrested after allegedly pointing an assault rifle-style gun at a group of children in Riverside County.
