AUSTIN (KXAN) - The Big 12 was viewed by many as top-heavy and a tier below some of the other power-five conferences early in the season. Now in November, the depth of the conference looks pretty impressive.Texas is 4-1 in conference which is good for first. Well. First, along with four other teams. Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Iowa State and Kansas State are all 4-1 as well.With a month to go in the season, Longhorns senior offensive lineman Christian Jones calls it, 'Championship November.' Jared Spurgeon and Matt Boldy returned to practice for the Wild, big news for a team that finished a 0-2-1 road trip with a 4-2 loss Sunday in New Jersey.Boldy, a top-six wing and the team’s second-leading goal-scorer last season with 32 last season, suffered an upper body injury in the team’s second game, Oct. 14 at Toronto, is eligible to play in Wednesday’s rematch with the Devils at Xcel Energy Center.Spurgeon, a veteran top-pair defenseman and the team’s captain, hasn’t played this season because of an upper body injury suffered when he was checked into the boards in an Oct. 4 preseason game at Chicago. He’s on long-term injured reserve and eligible to return for next Tuesday’s game against the Islanders on Long Island.Absent from practice was third-line wing Freddy Gaudreau, who didn’t travel with the team last week because of an upper body injury suffered when he was blindsided by Ryan Reaves in Toronto. A 21-year-old fatally shot in Minneapolis was from New Brighton, the Hennepin County medical examiner’s office said Wednesday.Minneapolis police responded about 10:30 p.m. Monday to reports of a vehicle idling for several hours on a residential block on North Humboldt Avenue between 41st and 42nd avenues. Officers found Jaden Malik Anand Hollman dead in the driver’s seat.Hollman, who had a gunshot wound to the head, was pronounced dead at the scene.No one was under arrest as of Wednesday and police said the investigation is ongoing.
