ST. LOUIS - A veterans aid program celebrates its 20th anniversary this week by opening a new facility Tuesday.Heroes Care donates food, supplies and financial grants to struggling military families. Their new 'Mission Depot' allows them to continue service from one location. BRANDON, Miss. — Several deputies from a Mississippi sheriff’s department being investigated by the Justice Department for possible civil rights violations have been involved in at least four violent encounters with Black men since 2019 that left two dead and another with lasting injuries, an Associated Press investigation found.Two of the men allege that Rankin County sheriff’s deputies shoved guns into their mouths during separate encounters. A former mayor of Sebastopol on got seven years in prison for sexual misconduct with a minor, the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office said.Robert Jacob, 46, met his victim online in early 2020 when the boy was 14 years old. By Jackie Wattles | CNNNight sky lovers can typically spot a smattering of a few planets, but in late March, a stunning visual takes shape when five planets line up beneath the moon in a display sometimes called a planetary parade or alignment.Onlookers will be able to catch the best glimpse of the alignment — which will include Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Uranus — on Tuesday evening, just after sunset. Much of the display will become visible on Friday and will continue to be so over the next couple of weeks, according to Cameron Hummels, a computational astrophysicist at the California Institute of Technology.Alignments such as this one appear every few years or so, Hummels said, and much of it will be visible to the naked eye, even in urban areas with significant light pollution. CHICO — Officers with the Chico Police Department arrested a man around noon Wednesday who was accompanied by a missing girl in a camp at upper Bidwell Park, according to a department press release.Police said they arrested 23-year-old Rory Murga on suspicion of an outstanding warrant.
